This week, Meem Se Mohabbat gave some insightful speeches. Although Roshi’s journey got less OTT and more human (thank God), Talha also appeared as the main anchor in a plot that still requires superheroes to save the day—and the teaser indicates that he will!
Roshi in Trouble The plot line that stood out as tangibly relatable was Roshi giving in to Shariq’s pressure to ride off into the sunset (birthday party), rather carelessly but understandably, so that young girls might finally find themselves in Roshi(?). Roshi’s antics—a little defiant, yet innocent, insanely gullible, yet relatable, silly, yet endearing antics—have finally warmed us up to her character. Dananeer is doing a believable job in recent episodes, striking the balance between being a clever young girl who gets into trouble because, well, she believes in herself and her ability to move mountains. Youth is a double-edged sword; it achieves, but is constantly juggling a tipping point between smart and silly. Roshi is that juggler in Meem e Mohabbat.
Shades Of Haseena Moin Meem Se Mohabbat, on the other hand, appears to be a hybrid of Haseena Moin’s Ankahi and Dhoop Kinare, evolving from an irate boss hero to a foolish young heroine who is reprimanded, corrected, and so becomes defiant until she makes a mistake that cannot be undone. Of course, the handsome boss saves the day. But the scene in the most recent episodes where Shariq connives to get Roshi to accompany him to the shady party was really well done, convincing, and definitely hair-raising.
Advice for young girls: bring a buddy, follow your gut and run, and let a friend or relative know exactly where you’re going and who you’re going with!
We hope that everyone is paying attention because the drama made all of these themes very evident. Both young girls like Roshi and predators like Shariq exist. Roshi’s rebellious demeanor was evocative of the way young people act when they get criticism—another quintessential Haseena Moin heroine characteristic. Furthermore, despite the fact that a young lady may appear to be highly independent and self-assured, she was duped by Shariq’s birthday and late office sitting schedule and did not confront him about taking credit for her work.
