Aye Ishq-e-Junoon: Shuja Asad gave a fantastic performance in this episode, leaving us on the edge of our seats as we wondered how far Shehroze would go.
The other shining star was Aimen’s character; it was heartwarming and demonstrated how much she loved Rahim that she chose to let Shehroze go and keep quiet for his sake.
AIJ was really dynamic this week, with a lot going on that kept us interested. We didn’t anticipate what would happen when Shehroze confronted Aimen inside the house; his demeanor was intimidating as he approached her, but we didn’t really anticipate that he would actually seize her and pull her downstairs, forcing her to remember everything that had previously happened. We were also alarmed; given that the attempt to kill her in Islamabad was unsuccessful, is he intending to do it again? We were tensely awaiting Farooq’s arrival at home beforeWe were tensely awaiting Farooq’s return home before Shehroze hurt Aimen.
Surprise, Surprise!
But hold on—Shehroze will surprise us next. Aimen is threatened to keep her lips shut and not recognize him if she wants Rahim to survive. It appears that the time away from home has sharpened him, and he applies his common sense. But did he decide to use that as a threat after first deciding to kill her and then discovering how much she loved Rahim?
Farooq perplexes us.
What is it that he desires? What are his true allegiances? Why is he allowing Afia and Shehroze to plot these assassination attempts if he truly cares about Rahim and Aimen as he stated in front of Shehroze?
A Touching Moment
It was also a touching exchange between Ali Nawaz and Aimen, as he is convinced of her good intentions and realizes how much she truly loves his son.
Two Women, One Rahim
In addition to having to live with the regret that she let Rahim down, poor Maheen may harbor the delusion that he will pick her over Aimen once he recovers. She had no idea that Rahim’s heart belongs to Aimen alone.
In addition to being charming, Aimen’s deep affection and reliance on Rahim may also be a little annoying. Having a savior might feel romantic and idealistic, but we don’t want women to be unable to fight their own fights. Perhaps Aimen’s death would have been more appropriate if he had simply left out the lines, “I cannot do it all alone.” However, we must not undervalue the bravery Aimen is displaying by persevering in the face of all the dangers, her mental anguish, and—above all—her decision to side with Rahim over her will to obtain justice. There is always strength involved in giving up something.
Rivalries between siblings
Because of his blind love for Rahim, Ali Nawaz is unaware of Shehroze’s innermost thoughts and feelings. The drama is on sibling rivalry and how, in many situations, it may drive one person to become toxic and possibly criminal. Shehroze is obviously disturbed by the way Ali Nawaz distinguishes between him and Rahim, even though he hasn’t shown it yet.
